From Old Sketchbooks...(1)

Spent a little while digging around in some of my old sketchbooks. This was intended to be part of a mini-comic that never quite came together. Yet. It might be a fun project to go back over some of these older pieces and re-do them from the ground up, possibly as web-comics. When things settle down a bit, my eyes are fully recovered and there's time for this sort of thing. Maybe...

So, with the demise of the Three Word Wednesday blog, the adventures of Bernitte and their serial Red Handed has been on hiatus, much like Bujilli. I considered making use of various random generators out on the web to provide a fresh set of three words every week...but none of them really quite hit the spot, not like the Three Word Wednesday prompts. It was a fun weekly challenge, for a while, a nice companion to producing a new episode of Bujilli's misadventures in Wermspittle (and Beyond) every Thursday and the Eight-Word Serial I was doing for Zeelia as well. In a way the Three Words challenge was a sort of warm-up for Bujilli & Zeelia both, and I have missed writing those serials quite a bit. Stopping wasn't exactly voluntary, but I don't wish to bore anyone with the gory details of my little excursion into serious illness and slow-going recovery. Art Everyday Month  is an artistic challenge established by Leah Koildas at her blog  Creative Every Day . She explains it pretty well on a page dedicated to the  Challenge. Essentially, those participating set themselves the goal of producing some one creative work each day for the entire month of November. In some respects it is like  Inktober , which I opted out of due to a lot of scheduling conflicts...but maybe next year I can do both challenges. So, for this year, for Creative every Day Month, I will be posting fresh new drawings and other artwork here at my personal blog. some of these will get statted-up as critters for our  Hereticwerks  blog--you didn't really think otherwise did you?--but some will be just for the sake of trying some technique out, or to do something I haven't done in a while. Friday Flash by Garrisonjames The goal is to post a brand new piece of flash fiction every Friday. Most flash fiction clocks in at under 1,000 or 2,000 words, but can be as brief as 365 words, 101 words, 140 words, five or six sentences, even just six words. There's a lot of room for experimentation and exploration. The Friday Flash meme is hosted by the nice people at the Friday Flash website.
